June/July wrap-up

Well hasn't time flown!

Here's some things we did!

JUNE

Went to Harajuku, saw this dude:

Went to Shinjuku, ate this:

Saw these guys:

Then BANG at the end of June I got to scramble getting lessons prepared and exams written so that we could make the trip out to LA for a wedding.  Jason was the best man, and yes, he was....is.

Before the wedding, we got to see some very patriotic 4th of July fireworks:

But who am I kidding, the main event was definitely the wedding, and the church was breathtakingly beautiful.

The bride, groom and bridal party scrubbed up pretty well too.

The reception was lovely too, there was a great speech by Jason

Delicious cakes

The macarena

And of course, Fernando serenaded the newlyweds with Frank Sinatra's 'Love and Marriage'

After all was said and done, the groomsmen and I went to Downtown Disney for dinner and were just generally classy in the midst of Disney chaos.

On our last day, the bride and groom kindly took us to the airport, via Santa Monica pier

Lovely trip, lovely people, then back to the rush of Tokyo.

At the end of July, Jason and I went to Wonderfest, a one-day festival/expo of anime, manga, vinyl toys, figurines, crafty things, and other things that don't immediately come to mind.  I didn't take many photos while we were there, but here's some photos of a cool creepy park and the surrounds near the hotel we stayed in.

Stay tuned for part two in a fortnight or so, the August wrap-up and attack of the David!

Bye!
